In 1988, Eli Janney (Edsel, Rain) and Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty started the Washington DC-based side project GIRLS AGAINST BOYS. They called the project Girls Against Boys in answer to the “boys club” mentality of the punk scene at the time. The two called in their friend Scott McCloud (who was then a memeber of DC post hardcore band Soul Side) to sing and then recorded three songs
