Prepare for New Fractures!

frak

Get your yearly dose of entropic jazz with the New Fracturs Quartet.  Ranging from blasts of incoherant noise from Dave Miller’s guitar to the clear and warm tones from Jaimie Branch’s trumpet, you’re in for an evening soothing and agitation.  These four young champions of constructive chaos will perform at Alchemia on Thursday, 1 October at 20.00.  Tickets are 25 Zł. in advance or 30 Zł at the door.

Sacrum Profanum

sacrum-profanum

Sacrum Profanum Festival, Sunday, 13 Sep -Saturday, 19 Sep
“Contemporary British composers are the stars of this year’s scene of the most ambitious of all Krakow music festivals. The achievements of Julian Anderson will be presented by Asko/Schonberg; the Austrian Klangforum Wien were appointed to present works by Brian Ferneyhough; the German Ensemble Modern will perform works by George Benjamin; and the London Sinfonietta will work on compositions by Olivier Knussen and Harrison Birtwistle. Do not miss The Cinematic Orchestra, a British-Polish duet (Ninja Tune stars) or the Sinfonietta Cracovia orchestra, but most of all you should come to at least one of the two (distinct) performances by Aphex Twin in the romantic scenery of the chemical tinning plant hall.” [from Przekrój and sacrumprofanum.pl]
