Krakow’s breakfasts

Maybe not as fancy as the one on the photo (yellow tomatoes, egg fried in toast, the oscypek on the side decorated with pomegranate jam) few places in Krakow offers nice breakfasts, on the top of our list are:

Pierwszy lokal na Stolarskiej po lewej stronie idąc od Małego Rynku – which means “the first place on Stolarska street on the left side coming from the direction of Maly Rynek” the best between 7-9 a.m., good morning coffee! and tasty, fresh sandwiches, to grab on the way to search for Krakow’s adventures or to consume inside.

In Dynia Resto Bar on Krupnicza St 20,  interior and names in menu might nicely surprise you: Starved Student, Farm Boy, Hazel High, California Cool – that’s just a few they offers, they have as well more standard breakfast menu – yogurts &, cottage cheese in a company of bread, butter & or eggs – scramble, omelettes, until 12:00.

Cava Cafe & Wine – you have to across a glowing menace, get to the other side of the river and turn left, right next to Drukarniayou will find Cava, they serve breakfast sets as in Dynia with all you might need for a good morning (coffee, orange juice, toast, jams, cheese, ham, vegetables) but what the most exiting is soft-boiled eggs served in a glass!

Samcznego!

Warm vocals and nifty electronic soundscapes will be your reward if you make it to Drukarnia in Podgórze at 8:00 pm on Sunday, the 7th of February. Don’t be alarmed or bolt for the exits if they produce a piano or a violin or other less electronic noisemakers, though. And their said to infuse their shows with a sense of humor.  No shortage of interesting (traditionally non-musical) objects may be employed by the band to stimulate the tiniest bones in your body — those found buried deep within your inner ears! Check their MySpace page for a sample of the Aural desert that this Polish / Ukranian band is whipping up for your enjoyment.

Living Jewish Music

2. july (wed)

>Living Jewish Music, 21:00
Living Jewish Music, the brainchild of musician and composer Raphael Rogiński, is a mini-festival of musicians and groups associated with the Jewish music scene in Poland. Its guiding principle is the search for answers to questions about the place of Jewish music in contemporary culture. Throughout its history, Jewish music has remained open to influences from the surrounding cultures, while maintaining its own original nature. This characteristic highlights the exceptionality and vigor of this music, which can be heard in various versions in almost every continent. It is also proof that Jewish music can exist even today, after the war, in Poland—where Jewish culture was almost entirely eradicated.
Artistic director: Raphael Rogiński
Participants in the project:
1. Horny Trees
2. Trzaska, Zimpel, Górczyński
3. Rogiński, Masecki, Moretti
