Mouse On The Keys At Klub Re!

the mysterious trio that goes by the name Mouse On The Keys

“Little is known,” writes a site dedicated to reviewing Japanese music, “about the mysterious trio that goes by the name of Mouse on the Keys.”

Here’s what we know:

  • They have a cool minimal poster up around town
  • Their music might be “experimental,” “hardocore,” “hip-hop,” and “somewhere between jazz and post-rock”
  • Like so many bands in our modern day they have a MySpace page where you can listen to some of their music and see if your computer has a Japanese character set installed
  • They are playing at Kraków’s Klub Re on March 8 at 20.00

George Dorn Screams in Klub Re

gds_press_1

No no no no . . . George Dorn won’t be screaming, but the band which is called “George Dorn Screams” will be performing.  Just to be clear.  Here’s what we know so far:  they’re built partly on guitars.  They bill themselves as a “band for late evening.”  They’re “post-rock” and they’re Polish.  The might be the forerunners of something called Serpentine Rock.  Their first record was called Snow Lovers Are Dancing.  This upcoming show is on Sunday, 22 November.  They’re at Klub Re (located at St. Krzyża Street #4) which is a place that usually attracts pretty good bands.  And the concert starts at 20.00.

DEATH SENTENCE: PANDA!

25th Nov

DEATH SENTENCE: PANDA! is Paul Costuros, Chris Dixon and Kim West – a trio of San Franciscan noise deliquents, featuring members of Crack: We Are Rock, T.I.T.S, Murder Murder and Total Shutdown.

They add a cartoonish sense of drama to the trad Bay Area post-punk sound, using nothing more than a flute, a pitchshifted clarinet, a drum kit and a whole lotta hollering. Their music draws heavily on traditional Chinese and Korean folk music, ragtime, New Orleans-style marching bands and good ol’ hardcore punk.
